Bridal Shower & Sip and See Invitation Wording (With Etiquette)

Showers celebrate what's coming: a marriage, or a brand-new baby. Here is wording for both, plus the etiquette questions people search for most.

Bridal shower invitation wording

  1. "Please join us for a bridal shower honouring the bride-to-be, Charlotte Hayes."
  2. "Love is brewing! Join us for a bridal tea party for Charlotte."
  3. "She found her forever. Let's shower her with love!"
  4. "Brunch, bubbly and the bride. You're invited to Charlotte's bridal shower."
  5. "From Miss to Mrs: please join us in celebrating Charlotte."

Who hosts and when to send

Bridal showers are usually hosted by the maid of honour, bridesmaids or a close relative, two to three months before the wedding. Send invitations four to six weeks ahead and include registry details on a separate line or in the message, not as the main event.

What is a sip and see?

A sip and see is a relaxed gathering after the baby arrives where friends "sip" a drink and "see" the newborn. It's popular in the US and Canada as an alternative or addition to a baby shower, and it's typically held when the baby is one to three months old.

Sip and see invitation wording

  1. "Please come for a sip & see to meet our little one, Amelia Rose."
  2. "Sip, see and say hello! Meet baby Amelia, Saturday 2–5 PM."
  3. "She's here and she's perfect. Come meet our daughter over light bites and bubbly."
  4. "Pop in for a drink and a cuddle. Baby Amelia's sip & see."

Sip and see etiquette

  • Keep it short: a two- to three-hour open house lets guests drop in without tiring the baby.
  • Add a gentle health note: "Please stay home if you're feeling unwell."
  • Gifts are optional; say "no gifts necessary" if you prefer.
