Sangeet & Mehndi Invitation Wording: Fun and Traditional Messages
Sangeet night and Mehndi ceremony invitation wording, with dress codes, a combined-event example, and tips for separate wedding function cards.

The Mehndi and Sangeet are where an Indian wedding lets its hair down. Separate cards for each function help guests plan outfits and timings, and they're far easier to share on WhatsApp than one long card.
Mehndi invitation wording
- "Join us for an evening of henna, music and chai at Ananya's Mehndi."
- "The henna's ready, the playlist too. Come celebrate the Mehndi of Ananya & Vikram!"
- "Kindly join us for the Mehndi ceremony with your blessings and your best dance moves."
- "Mehndi lagaane aao, nachne bhi! Thursday, 4 PM onwards."
Mehndi dress codes: "Wear green", "Shades of green & pink", or "Boho & comfortable. We'll be sitting on the floor!"
Sangeet invitation wording
- "Let the dhol beat! Join us for a night of music and dance at Priya & Rohan's Sangeet."
- "One night. Two families. Endless dance-offs. You're invited to the Sangeet."
- "Come for the performances, stay for the dance floor. Sangeet night, Saturday 7 PM."
- "Bring your energy, we'll bring the beats. Sangeet of Priya & Rohan."
Sangeet dress codes: "Indo-western glam", "Sparkle & sequins", or "Bollywood night".
A combined Mehndi & Sangeet card
"Henna by day, dance by night! Join us for the Mehndi at 4 PM and the Sangeet at 8 PM, Saturday, 28 November, at the Grand Ballroom."
Tips
- One card per function works best digitally; send them together in one message.
- Put timings in bold. Functions often run back to back.
- Mention performances if you want family to prepare a dance. Give them a few weeks!
